The Background:
An excellent in-house opportunity has just arisen within this Global Mobility department. The UK mobility team is situated in London, within walking distance of King Cross station.
Working as a Global Mobility Advisor, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the assignment process for both in-bound and out-bound expatriates. You will provide advice and support in all areas related to mobility. The role is exceptionally diverse and you will deal with many different nationalities and levels of seniority within the organization.
The Role:
The responsibilities of a Global Mobility Advisor include but are not limited to the following:
- To have day-to-day responsibility for the Group International Assignment Programme (currently circa 120 employees of all levels on assignment). To include all elements of Assignment Management: i.e. cost estimate, construction of compensation package, move management, policy briefing etc.
- Work with external advisors to understand and advise on Employment Market, Reward Packages, Employment Law, Tax and Social Security Implications of moving current employees and new hires internationally. This includes new country start-ups of which there have been 4 in the past 12 months.
- Day to day management of 3rd party vendors to include, data providers, tax & social security specialists, relocation agents, immigration agents, etc.
- Provide advice and guidance on UK Immigration requirements for current employees and new starters to the UK, using 3rd party vendor advice/support as required.
- Work with the International HR Manager on a variety of projects focused on ‘Internationalising Our Business’.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within the field of international assignments, either global mobility or expatriate management. The ideal candidate will have an international focus – having a good understanding of other cultures and countries. You will be well organised, a strong communicator, have a thirst for knowledge and self-development and possess good interpersonal skills as you will be dealing with expatriates and senior managers on a day-to-day basis. Good IT skills are a must as cost tracking and assignment tracking rely heavily on Excel programs. Knowledge of expatriate tax is a benefit, as you will work very closely with international tax providers. Some UK and international travel is expected.
