Although the M4 ‘corridor’ may not sound particularly glamorous, it is an area that provides the base from which many UK and international IT companies operate.Despite the recent recession, the sector has continued to grow at a remarkable pace.Large, well established global concerns such as Intel, Panasonic and Microsoft are joined by small, young companies that concentrate their IT services and telecommunications making the area around the M4 motorway that runs between West London and South Wales one of the UK’s most important technology hubs. The area around Reading, Swindon and the Thames Valley has a particularly large concentration of international companies managing international assignments into the area. With its proximity to Heathrow, many of the companies in this area organise short-term projects and business trips, so a new collection of serviced apartments will be especially welcome to them and the Relocation Management Companies and Destination Service Providers that service those businesses. In January, House of Fisher launched 100 Kings Road apart-hotel in Reading, and following increased demand in the area, is following it up with the plans for a new apart-hotel, mixed use scheme, in Bracknell, Berkshire.
