Green light for Crossrail means good news for property prices
News that Crossrail, the long awaited £16-billion link from West to East London, is to become a reality, is sure to have an impact on housing prices within the affected area. The new rail line will run from Maidenhead in the West through to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east. Says Hartley Beames, associate for Knight Frank residential development, “By linking west to east with new stops along the way, the line will produce a number of new ‘hot spots’ where property prices are likely to increase over and above the market in general.
The areas that Knight Frank feel are likely witness the largest increases in value (as a consequence of the scheme) include Abbey Wood, Stratford, West Drayton, Hayes, Southall and Hanwell.
