This year’s Reward Conference from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), to be held in London on 23 and 24 February, will address the difficulty of producing competitive and engaging reward packages on a tight budget, and, for many, against the backdrop of media scrutiny and regulatory intervention. The event will bring together reward specialists from a record number of organisations, not only to discuss the recession’s impact on reward policies, but also to look ahead to the next 12 months and analyse how to take advantage of the economic recovery.
Charles Cotton, reward adviser at the CIPD, says, “These are interesting times for reward specialists, who face many different types of challenge in 2010. Firstly, the recession has meant a lot of newly-imposed regulatory changes that have to be complied with. But it has also raised many core questions around linking reward to individual and business performance and the role of pay in attracting and incentivising employees. ?
“For those professionals grappling with these tough questions, this conference offers a great opportunity to hear how different companies are revisiting their strategies and how they’ll be approaching reward in the next 12 months. There’ll be a lot of meaty discussion, but also much practical, detailed advice to help anyone involved in devising and implementing pay strategies make them work best for their business.”
