Garden International School

Garden International School (GIS) was founded in 1951, making it one of the first British international schools in Malaysia.

Welcome to Garden International School

Having moved from its original location in the Lake Gardens, GIS is now located in the suburb of Mont Kiara, 10 km from Kuala Lumpur City Centre. One of the largest international schools in Malaysia, GIS educates around 2,000 students aged between 3 and 18 years old, comprising over 65 nationalities.
Accredited by the Council of International Schools, GIS provides a high quality British-based curriculum within the context of an inclusive, innovative learning culture. Students benefit from outstanding teaching within the classroom and a ‘wider curriculum’ outside of the classroom, both of which are carefully designed to bring out the best in every learner.GIS students consistently achieve some of the best academic results in the world, making it one of the top schools offering IGCSE and A-Levels globally. In 2020, 76% of students were awarded A*/A grades at IGCSE, whilst 81% acquired A*/A grades at A-Level, with an astonishing 70% achieving straight A*/A across their subjects. It is therefore perhaps no surprise that 99% of students will go on to study at their first or second choice university in 2020.gis-classroomAn array of opportunities offered as part of our wider curriculum include co-curricular activities (CCAs), camps, Discovery Week, the Duke of Edinburgh International Award, recreational sports, Dragons Sports Academy and Community Service, as well as integrated programmes such as the Student Leadership Programme and Thrive Internship Programme.  All of the outstanding learning opportunities on offer ensure that students are afforded the opportunity to develop the GIS Learner Skills, ensuring that they graduate equipped to succeed in the future and have a positive impact on their wider community.gis-outdoorAt GIS, we learn together as a community. Not only do we pride ourselves in nurturing a strong home-school partnership, through weekly parent workshops as an example, we also attract and develop the world’s best teachers through our globally recognised professional learning programme.gis swimming

Early Years Centre (EYC)

At EYC, we believe in providing a happy, secure, enriched environment in which children feel valued and have the self-confidence to become lifelong learners. Our learning environments, both indoors and outdoors, are well resourced, offering a range of multi-sensory learning opportunities. Our team of dedicated staff actively promote positive relationships and support children in developing effective communication skills. An added dimension to learning at EYC is our Jungle School programme, which is a hands-on programme based on ‘Forest Schools’ in Europe. Jungle School is an inspiring experience that offers all learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a natural environment.Throughout their time at EYC, our young learners have plentiful opportunities to follow their interests and take ownership over their learning. This is encouraged through providing first-hand experiences to create a sense of awe and wonder about the world around them.gis-early-years-centre
