Harrow School Online

Harrow School was founded by an English landowning farmer called John Lyon in 1572, under a royal charter from Queen Elizabeth I. In 1615, it opened with only 30 local pupils and one classroom.

Harrow School Online’s Sixth Form programme features Pearson Edexcel International A Level courses in Maths, Further Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Spanish, Economics and Psychology.  The two-year online courses that Harrow School Online use have been built by Pearson, a leader in the provision of British curriculum and qualifications. They present concepts in a way that is interactive and engaging, using video and text explanations alongside graphics, simulations and frequent checks of understanding. The self-study components of our courses are supported by live online lessons with their teachers, where pupils have the chance to discuss and practise what they have learnt. Learning at Harrow School Online is interactive, individualised, and engaging. An Online Harrovian’s timetable consists of a combination of fixed LiveLessons® (typically in the range of 6 - 10 pupils per class), flexible self-study lessons, homework, house meetings, elective programme sessions, and extracurricular activities. Each pupil's progress is continuously monitored via a data-rich learning platform, while regular one-on-one meetings with the pupil’s Success Coach ensure Online Harrovians are on track for success. Schedules vary by pupil and by subject combination, but full-time pupils will be required to commit at least 25-30 hours a week to their studies. The School also offers the Extended Project Qualification, Tutor-Led A Levels and Harrow School Online Tutoring.The Extended Project Qualification is designed to develop learners’ critical, reflective, problem-solving and independent learning skills, and supports pupils with the transition to higher education or the world of work. The Extended Project Qualification is a unique study programme for which the learning material is entirely pupil selected and developed.  Tutor-Led A Levels are for pupils enrolled full-time at Harrow School Online in our two-year online courses and the Tutor-Led A Levels are available in a subject not currently offered by the school.Harrow School Online, online tutoring provision encompasses high quality online learning using the latest technology. Designed for success and suited to pupils embarking on the next key stage of education, the engaging learning sessions will initially focus on International GCSE and A Level Maths, English and Science with plans to expand into other subjects. Each programme will consist of a minimum of 10 interactive sessions led by experienced fully qualified teachers with extensive experience and proven track records in their teaching and tutoring career. Comprising a full suite of lesson materials and assessments, the online sessions will equip your child with the tools and resources to enhance their learning, all in the comfort of your own home. This programme is aimed at pupils focused on A*/A and B grades and GCSE 9 - 7 grades for Pearson Edexcel specifications.Harrow School Online brings the Harrow experience to our pupils in their homes, developing the motivation, skills and determination of our pupils through an education that involves high levels of academic achievement, a diverse range of co-curricular opportunities and a House system that support pupils in their online education.
