As skills shortages increase in a competitive global marketplace and organisations respond to technological advances it has never been more important for employers to forge links with schools and the talent pipeline of the future.

This award is open to companies and organisations working with state, independent and international school(s) from any country to help prepare young people for careers of the future.

The initiative can be in any area but should demonstrate clear commitment to better engagement between schools and employers and a shared vision of enhancing the learning potential of all pupils and maximising their future career prospects.

Entrants must explain how the initiative enhances learning and career opportunities in any area from STEM, to the creative sector, the environmental industry to biomed, space and robotics or agriculture and hospitality.

Clear examples of how the initiative meets some of the following criteria must be provided:

  1. Demonstrates clear commitment to better engagement between schools and employers
  2. Enhances the learning potential of pupils and maximises their future career prospects
  3. Demonstrates an ethos of global mindedness and understanding of cross-cultural awareness and diversity
  4. Fosters teamwork and the ability to work virtually and/or in global teams
  5. Promotes digital communication, technological advancement and data analytics
  6. Increases employability prospects for young people
  7. Provides world of work experience
  8. Excites young people about careers in engineering, manufacturing or skill shortage sectors
  9. Offers staff (teaching and/or other) development opportunities
  10. Encourages business skills and the work ethic required for a lasting career

The judges will be looking for proof of consistently high standards and excellent performance indicators – for example, parent/employer testimonials, feedback forms and/or survey results.
