St Anthony's School for Girls

St. Anthony’s School for Girls educates girls from ages 4-11 in a Catholic environment which is inclusive and open to all Faiths. As with our sister school, St. Anthony’s School for Boys, it is our supportive family environment and high quality education which makes us exceptional. We operate a Pastoral Board which will work with the Alpha Plus Group and the school leadership team to ensure the Catholic ethos of the school is nurtured.

St. Anthony’s School for Girls is both academic and caring; setting high educational standards as well as being deeply focused on nurturing the individual. Our family atmosphere develops respect and compassion, creating an environment in which kindness is a core value. By learning in a setting where they feel safe, secure and valued, St. Anthony’s girls will flourish academically and grow to be confident and resilient young women, well prepared for the wider world.

Our curriculum combines traditional methods with current pedagogical research and advances in technology. Our individualised learning programme prepares each pupil with the academic ability, social awareness, confidence and self-motivation required for a natural transition to senior school.

Our girls benefit from single sex education alongside the advantages that co-educational activities can offer. The school has close links with St. Anthony’s School for Boys and other schools through sharing sporting events, assemblies and reception class ‘play dates’.

St. Anthony’s School for Girls is located in Ivy House, a magnificent three storey building with a beautiful façade, overlooking Golders Hill Park. The building has an area of 12,000 square feet and has undergone a full programme of refurbishment to create the very best teaching space, incorporating 14 classrooms, a specialist science room, as well as a multi-purpose hall for dining, assemblies, gymnastics and other purposes. Formerly the home of the prima ballerina Anna Pavlova, Ivy House was also once occupied by the painter, JMW Turner.

As a London school we take full advantage of a wide range of attractions and visits including museums, art galleries, theatres, and performing arts venues. In addition, girls in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 go further afield taking part in residential trips, not only to extend their curriculum experience but also to help them develop their independence and resilience.
