The British School in The Netherlands (BSN)

For more than 80 years, the British School in The Netherlands (BSN) has been located in the beautiful city of The Hague, in the heart of The Netherlands. We are now one of the largest and most successful international schools in Europe - our recent examination results speak for themselves.

As an 'Internationally British' school, teaching the British Curriculum, we are enriched by a hugely diverse community composed of over 80 nationalities. We welcome children and young people from all corners of the globe - encouraging cultural connections both inside and outside our classrooms.

The BSN’s ethos goes far beyond ensuring that our students receive a rounded, results-focused education delivered in English - a British education creates open-minded, confident, creative and thoughtful individuals.

We know that moving to a new country and starting a new school is an exciting time - at the BSN we do all that we can to help children and their families settle in as quickly as possible. We are very experienced in welcoming newcomers, not only in September but throughout the whole school year, and our Family Association Welcome Team plays a vital role in this.

From the moment a child joins us, our experienced staff ensure that they quickly settle in and start to enjoy the wonderfully rich and inspiring educational environment that is uniquely ours.

Our children and students learn through practice and experience - supported by great teaching, innovative resources and an international context. Junior Schools

Our three Junior Schools are situated on three campuses in The Hague area and are home to children in Early Years/Foundation Stage (3-5) and Junior (ages 6-10).

Senior Schools

BSN has two senior school campuses: one in Voorschoten (on the outskirts of The Hague) and one in Leidschenveen. The latter is on the same campus as one of the junior schools. 

Sixth Form Pathways

The Sixth Form at The BSN offers six academic pathways - each of them is quite different but all are well-established, well-recognised and highly valued by schools, universities and employers. Students with any of these qualifications are able to transfer to secondary schools and apply to colleges and universities around the world.
