About IGBIS
IGB International School (IGBIS) is home to 92% of expatriate educators from all over the world including the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, with many of them bringing extensive experience in International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes, ensuring students receive top-tier education. IGBIS’s student body is equally diverse, with pupils from 35 nations, fostering cross-cultural exchange and understanding. Preparing Students For The Future with IB
In today's volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) world, the IB programmes offer an ideal solution for nurturing resilient, forward-thinking individuals. For more than 50 years, the IB has provided a strong, adaptable framework that enables students to tailor their education while gaining crucial life skills. At IGBIS, students embark on this transformative journey through the following IB programmes:
- Primary Years Programme (PYP): For children aged 3–12, the PYP marks the start of their IB journey, encouraging active, inquisitive learning and fostering a strong sense of cultural awareness.
- Middle Years Programme (MYP): For students aged 11–16, the MYP bridges classroom learning with real-world applications, preparing them for the demanding requirements of the IB Diploma Programme (DP) or the Career-related Programme (CP).
- Diploma Programme (DP): Designed for students aged 16–19, the DP offers a rigorous, university-level curriculum that enhances subject mastery, critical thinking, research skills, and intercultural understanding.
- Career-related Programme (CP): For students aged 16–19 who are interested in pursuing career-related education, the CP blends academic study with career-focused courses, equipping students with practical skills for their chosen professions.
Intensive English Academic Programme (IEAP)
The Intensive English Academic Programme (IEAP) supports non-native English students in acquiring satisfactory English proficiency before fully engaging with the rigorous IB curriculum. Unlike traditional language programmes that operate separately from the school’s core curriculum, the IGBIS learning experience is deeply embedded into the IEAP. Students are introduced to the "language of each subject" before they learn the content, ensuring they build confidence and competence in both English and subject-specific terminology while its comprehensive student support system fosters a nurturing and inclusive environment. The programme ensures a supportive, inclusive learning environment to prepare students for success throughout their educational journey.

50-Metre Olympic-sized Competition Pool
An 8-lane, 50-metre pool facilitates swimming lessons for both elementary and secondary students and serves as the venue for various inter-school swimming invitationals and competitions throughout the year, such as the KLSL Swim Meet and Aquathlon.
25-Metre Shallow Learners Pool
Comes with a graded floor, this shallow pool is ideal for younger swimmers, providing a safe environment to build foundational swimming skills. The pool's dimensions offer ample space for instructors to conduct lessons and provide individual attention to each learner, fostering a conducive atmosphere for effective teaching and improvement.
Spacious Indoor Sports Hall
Boasting three full-sized basketball, netball and volleyball courts as well as 12 badminton courts, this hall frequently hosts inter-school tournaments like the KLSL and AIMS competitions. Along with top-notch facilities, the sports hall catalyses physical development, fostering a vibrant sports culture that promotes teamwork, discipline, and athletic excellence.
Full-Sized Astro Turf Football Pitch and 400-Metre Running Track
The full-sized astroturf football pitch and a full-sized 400-metre running track on campus also provide students with a multitude of sports activities, including football and track and field disciplines such as pole vault, sprinting, and long jump. With this spacious football field and running track, they have had the privilege of hosting exhilarating track and field meets with other schools, fostering healthy competition and camaraderie.
Along with a long and triple jump pit and a shot put circle, the school’s full-size 400-metre running track of 8-lane has served as a venue for meaningful events. These events include the Terry Fox Run, where the Grade 8 students actively engage in community service, and the impactful 24-Hour Race, empowering students to take a stand against modern slavery by raising funds for organisations such as A21, dedicated to combating human trafficking and supporting child advocacy centres.
Multipurpose Theatre
Equipped with state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, the impressive 534-seater theatre offers ample versatility in staging student performances, divisional assemblies, events like TEDxIGBIS Youth where exceptional youth speakers share their unique ideas and perspectives on various topics, advocating new world views, innovative life choices, and inventive solutions, and school-wide celebrations, which are frequent occurrences in an international school as diverse as IGBIS!
Music and Drama Rooms
The school's purpose-built music and drama rooms provide students with a supportive environment to develop their talents in the performing arts while also learning essential skills such as teamwork and creative expression. The music rooms are well-equipped with a variety of instruments, including pianos, guitars, drums, and other percussion instruments, offering a rich space for musical exploration. Meanwhile, the drama rooms serve as an inspiring sanctuary for students to delve into the world of theatrical performance, honing their acting skills and creativity. Art Studios
Serving as hubs for creativity, the art studios at IGBIS foster an appreciation for visual expression and allow students to showcase their creative works during the Grade 12 Final Exhibition and the MYP Visual Art Exhibition while gaining problem-solving and critical thinking skills, skills that are valuable both within and outside of academic settings.
Design Technology and Maker Space Rooms
Design technology and maker space rooms develop “design thinking” and support hands-on learning, giving students the chance to engage in self-driven projects such as lighting design, woodworking, and CNC embroidery.
Everton International Academy
In an unparalleled partnership with Everton Football Club, a distinguished Premier League club and a founding member of the Football League, the Everton International Academy is for young athletes aged 3 to 17, integrating Everton’s renowned football development processes and global experience into the school’s sports curriculum, providing top-tier football training and development opportunities. The programme emphasises fun, inclusivity, and teamwork while nurturing essential skills such as leadership, resilience, and confidence.
FirstPoint USA
