Academic Excellence

Academic results are excellent and the College has been an IB World School since 2014. Students are encouraged to go beyond mere knowledge acquisition and examination performance to develop attributes such as creative and critical thinking, collaboration and communication skills, as emphasised by the IB Learner Profile. Embarking on the IB program also promotes independent learning and students take increasing responsibility for their academic growth as the course progresses. The diverse range of subjects covered in the IB curriculum provides individuals with a broad knowledge base while also giving them the skills to engage with people in an increasingly globalised world.

This impressive performance has paved the way for pupils to gain admission into prestigious universities worldwide with 93% taking up places at their first or second choice university in 2023. A comprehensive programme specifically tailored by the College’s University Guidance Department and regular visits from many international university representatives throughout the year ensure that students feel confident when applying to their chosen university wherever they want to go in the world.

GCSE results are equally strong. In 2023 the average grade achieved was an ‘A’, with 79% of all students taking Edexcel subjects getting an A or A*. Overall, with Edexcel and Cambridge results combined, over half of IGCSE pupils received 5 or more A*s and 41% of pupils received 9 or more A*/A grades.
