RELOCATING WITH YOUR FAMILY? BISU IS READY FOR YOU

Moving to a new country mid-year is never straightforward – but finding the right school does not have to add to that uncertainty. BISU welcomes students at any point in the academic year, and our aim is simple: to ensure every child settles quickly, feels secure, and continues their education without disruption.Relocating families need more than a good curriculum. They need a school that will look after their child as a whole person. Our pastoral care team ensures every new student is supported from day one – socially, emotionally, and academically. Safeguarding is embedded in everything we do. For students whose first language is not English, our teachers are experienced in supporting English as an Additional Language, helping children build confidence and fluency alongside their studies.BISU follows the Cambridge Pathway from age 3 to 18 – one of the most internationally recognised curricula in the world – providing clear academic progression at every stage, with qualifications including the Cambridge IGCSE and A Levels accepted by universities worldwide. We offer flexible learning formats, on-site and online where appropriate, so families can choose the arrangement that best suits their circumstances without compromising on quality or continuity.Learning is delivered in small groups, allowing for an individual approach and a personalised learning path for every student.

Welcome to The British International School, Ukraine!

OUR IDENTITY

Established in 1997, BISU was the first school to bring a British-based education to Ukraine and is widely regarded as one of the country’s leading international schools. The first Cambridge-authorised school in Ukraine, for nearly three decades BISU has been maintaining high academic standards and upholding British values through the Cambridge Pathway.BISU is a member of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), which represents over 450 schools and organisations in 80 countries. We are the only educational institution in Ukraine to hold this status, confirming that we meet the standards required of a British international school. With two campuses in Kyiv and Dnipro, BISU is the only international school that has remained physically open since 1 September 2022, welcoming students from Nursery to Sixth Form.

WHO WE ARE

BISU is an international community that fosters academic achievement alongside passion for learning, creative thinking, social responsibility, and global awareness, in a safe and supportive environment. We provide a quality holistic education which challenges our students to be broad-minded, observant, balanced and courageous. We seek to empower young people to find their true calling in life through continuous learning, unleashed potential and personal growth.  Before the tragic events of February 2024, BISU brought together 52 nationalities across its student and teacher body. That international character remains intact. Our classrooms are still home to students and teachers from across the world, and we consider that diversity one of our defining strengths.

OUR CORE VALUES

Everything at BISU is underpinned by a shared set of values upheld by the entire school community: happiness, curiosity and adventure, strong community, continuous learning, devotion and perseverance, responsibility, resilience and courage. We celebrate honesty, integrity, empathy, maturity, self-discipline, and commitment to service.Alongside our internationalism, BISU fosters British values: democracy, the rule of law, mutual respect, individual liberty, and tolerance of different faiths, beliefs, and backgrounds.
