World Cup immigration updates

New immigration requirements will be enforced during the FIFA World Cup, Russia:

• As of May 25th through July 25th all foreigners must register within three days after the arrival to Russia
• If staying in a hotel, the hotel provides the registration automatically. Otherwise, registration should be provided at the place of residence
• In case of travel within Russia to another city hosting FIFA games: registration at the local location must be arranged as well within three days
• New requirement is valid for all foreigners and family members, including HQS and other work permit holders

Housing: finding accomodation

The rental housing market in Moscow and other cities hosting the FIFA World Cup today is very dynamic. Demand is very high and the existing supply can struggle to accommodate. Therefore rental rates for the period of the championship are two-four times higher than usual.Accommodation options:

• Online booking sites by now have rented out most of their best options and now offer only very expensive properties
• Private landlords can ask $10,000 – $15,000 USD per month for short-term rentals (in Moscow), plus a deposit in the amount of a one-month rent. The minimum rental period is one month
• The best solution is serviced apartments. Rental rates in Moscow range from $350 to $550 per day for a stay of two-four weeks, and up to $650 per day for a stay of up to a week. Migration registration is provided
