Prior to this he was Headteacher at Hampstead Hill School, where he successfully led the Preparatory school expansion from concept to launch and delivered record pupil numbers.  A former professional footballer for both AFC Wimbledon and Brentford Football Club, Mr Montague holds postgraduate and undergraduate degrees in educational leadership and primary education. He brings to Wetherby Notting Hill a blend of academic rigour, a high-performance mindset and a deep understanding of how to inspire young learners.Mr Montague takes over from Mark Snell, Interim Headmaster at Wetherby Notting Hill, who came on board in January to ensure a smooth transition following the departure of Paul David. Ross Montague comments:

“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining Wetherby Notting Hill. Its history, consistency and breadth of achievement continue to impress me. The happiness of the children and the quality of the experiences provided make it the very best start to any boy’s formal schooling. It is clear that the school is committed not only to academic excellence but to shaping kind and respectful young men from the very beginning of their journey. “I find it particularly exciting as we come together as a school community and open up opportunities for all. I am committed to ensuring that my own standards and dedication to education strengthen and enhance what is already an exceptional school.”The Wetherby schools continue to define London’s premium educational standard. This builds on 75 years of Wetherby Schools’ gold-standard pre-prep education for boys and the distinguished heritage of Pembridge Hall, West London’s first-choice premium girls’ school.
