There can be no denying this was an extremely close category with one of our biggest shortlists. We were truly inspired by the lengths regional and global serviced apartment providers had gone to overcome the challenges of the pandemic, to put their clients first and to support their own staff.In the end there can only be one winner. While Frasers Hospitality certainly is a big global player with 4,000 employees, it is clear they understand their valuable role in the global mobility supply chain.

Mobility market and duty of care

Frasers Hospitality were determined to keep operations and processes nimble and flexible, ready to adapt and pivot to the unexpected. Safe, trackable, accredited and underpinned by a thorough knowledge of the global mobility sector, the services outlined in this winning entry revealed Frasers Hospitality’s deep knowledge of how to support global talent, dependents and corporate clients to ensure work can continue, and business and project objectives are met.Being on your own in lockdown is not an easy experience. Frasers Hospitality anticipated the unique needs of each client – whether families with children, or guests with pets needing vets or advice on dog-friendly parks. By stepping up wi-fi support they were able to offer education resources and entertainment via the Frasers platform.Restrictions on international travel were also obviously one of the biggest issues for corporate clients. Moving testimonials from families in Wuhan at the start of the coronavirus pandemic express their gratitude to staff for help making their travel arrangements were joined by those from long-stay guests in Singapore.An excellent video portrayed the smooth and safe check-in procedure and highlighted the attention to detail around health and hygiene, providing reassurance to corporate guests, their employers and the service providers responsible for arranging temporary accommodation around meeting duty of care requirements.

Motivating and supporting their team

A passionate workforce is key to a successful business and retention. Frasers Hospitality capitalised on digital technology to upskill and train their staff. In addition, they maximised technology to overhaul their operational procedures almost overnight in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.The judges particularly commended the Fraser Day Heroes employee recognition programme, which celebrated everyday heroes and made a big difference to morale.At the Virtual Awards Ceremony, the trophy was accepted by Rebecca Hollants Van Loocke, who said, “We are very grateful and honoured to receive this Relocate award. It’s been fascinating welcoming people throughout Covid and helping them manage through crisis and in a foreign land. Thank you very much and thank you to Relocate Global.”
