Multiple Pathways, Strong Results: IGCSE, IB and BTEC at BISP

Students at British International School, Phuket (BISP) are celebrating a strong set of 2026 examination results across IGCSE, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport.

The results highlight both high academic achievement and the breadth of pathways available to students at BISP, allowing them to pursue routes that reflect their individual strengths, interests and future ambitions. At IGCSE level, BISP recorded one of its strongest performances to date. 94% of grades were awarded at A–C, 44% at A–A and 72% at A*–B, with a record number of students securing the highest grades. In total, 25 students achieved six or more A* or A grades.“These outstanding IGCSE results are among the strongest we have seen at BISP, with a record number of students achieving the highest grades of A* and A. They are a wonderful reflection of the talent, hard work and commitment of our students, supported by the dedication and expertise of our teachers,’’ said Simon Meredith, BISP Head of School. For students progressing through Senior School, BISP offers both the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma, providing different approaches to learning while supporting progression to university and future careers. The 2026 IB Diploma cohort achieved a 97% pass rate, compared with a worldwide average of 81%, and an average score of 33 points, three points above the global average of 30. The school’s highest-performing student achieved 44 out of a possible 45 points.Internationalism was also reflected in the results, with 22% of students receiving the IB Bilingual Diploma, while 72% of the cohort achieved a score at or above the worldwide average.Alongside the IB Diploma, BISP’s BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma provides an applied learning pathway for students. All eight students completing the programme in 2026 achieved qualifications ranging from Triple Distinction*, the highest possible award, to Distinction with Double Merit.Their results have enabled them to secure places at a variety of leading universities, demonstrating how an applied pathway can provide students with both practical skills and qualifications for progression into higher education.Together, these results reflect an approach to Senior School education that recognises that success does not follow a single route. From the strong foundations established at IGCSE to the different opportunities offered through the IB Diploma and BTEC, BISP students are able to pursue pathways that reflect their strengths, interests and ambitions, preparing them for the next stage of their education and beyond.
