On 20th November in a special ceremony, TASIS was awarded the British Youth Travel Award (BYTA) 2019 for Best Educational Product for its Summer Program. The award acknowledges a product or experience that provides the youth, student and educational travel market with a dedicated customer experience.TASIS England’s Head of School, Mr Bryan Nixon, was honoured by the recognition and said that the award is a testament to the community and the mission of the school. He added, “TASIS England nurtures intellectual curiosity and emboldens each learner to flourish as a principled, open-minded, and compassionate member of a global community. We thank BYTA for the award and for recognising our work with young people and the fantastic educational product that is the TASIS England Summer Program. I am also grateful to the outstanding programme team: administration, students, faculty, and staff.”

A summer programme with a difference

Simon Fitch, director of student recruitment and admissions, who accepted the award, also thanked the BYTA judges and added, “We are very excited that our 41-year-old summer programme has been recognised for the high-quality, safe, living and learning environment we offer to students from more than 30 countries each summer. We thank our leadership team, teachers and students for playing their part in each year’s successful summer school.”Sia Georgaklis, director of the TASIS England Summer Program, explained that “each year we listen to what our students and families are looking for in a summer-school experience and we continuously enhance our course offerings and our summer programme based on recommendations. It’s rewarding to see our work recognised.”
