Cybernews researchers analyzed download data of the 100 most popular AI apps in 64 countries and compared those download figures against national population sizes to estimate adoption rates.We sourced the download data from Google Play Store and Apple App Store via a third-party data provider.

Here are some of the key numbers for the United Kingdom:

• Adoption in the United Kingdom increased from 14% in 2023 to 29% in 2024 and 55% in 2025.

• Downloads rose from 9.4M (2023) to 19.9M (2024) and 37.9M (2025), with a +90% year-over-year increase from 2024 to 2025.
• The United Kingdom is a leader among Western nations in AI adoption.
