Wetherby Prep Marylebone and Wetherby Pre-Prep Kensington to Become Co-Educational from September 2027
Expansion of the Wetherby Pembridge journey to include co-educational pre-prep and prep pathway

Wetherby Prep Marylebone and Wetherby Pre-Prep Kensington, two of London’s leading independent primary schools, will begin a phased transformation to become co-educational from September 2027, becoming Wetherby Pembridge Prep and Wetherby Pembridge Pre-Prep. The move expands access to high-quality independent education and forms part of the continued development of the Wetherby Pembridge journey – a connected 2–18 educational pathway designed to offer families continuity, choice and a single standard of academic excellence from early years through to senior school. The evolution follows the highly successful launch of Wetherby Pembridge Senior School, which opened in September 2025 and has seen strong demand from families seeking a premium co-educational education. The transition of the pre-prep and prep schools will create a seamless pathway for pupils progressing through the Wetherby Pembridge family of schools. For more than 75 years, Wetherby and Pembridge Hall have been recognised for their academic excellence and for nurturing confident, capable learners who go on to achieve outstanding success. This development builds on that heritage while ensuring the schools continue to evolve to meet the needs of future generations of pupils and families. The transformation will strengthen the academic and pastoral experience across the schools, creating a unified and coherent educational journey while maintaining the high standards, values and traditions that have defined the Wetherby and Pembridge communities for decades. The recent admissions cycle for Wetherby Pembridge Senior School has further demonstrated the strong demand for this premium co-educational model. The integration of Wetherby Prep Marylebone and Wetherby Pre-Prep Kensington into the Wetherby Pembridge pathway will therefore provide families with a clear and continuous educational journey from early years through to senior school.
